Where I ate on a Puerto Vallarta food tour.
Support local and tip your tour guides, but if you are short on time you can just check out my favorite Puerto Vallarta restaurants and pick a few. They are all spectacular.
Our first stop was actually for dessert, so none of us would bail for being too full. We checked out the Churro guy! He makes Churros from scratch, super hot and delicious. Just google “Churro Guy Puerto Vallarta!”
We also stopped at a Food truck, Memos, which was passed down through a few generations. Get the quesadilla, it was my favorite.
…And the photo above was classic traditional Mexican, Doña Chela.
Our next stop was one of the highlights for me, and we went there for brunch the next morning. It goes by Macareno by day and has rave reviews.
Those are places where the locals go, but there are some more touristy gems too, especially if you want pictures for the ‘gram!
This is Mar Y Vino, a must in Puerto Vallarta. It is a beautiful restaurant on the roof of a hotel, overlooking the ocean, where your table is in a reflective pool. Take your shoes off and enjoy the view! Get reservations for lunch if you want a better chance of a view without people blocking you.
There are also some gems in the hotel district that might be closer to where you are staying in Vallarta.
These were some of my faves for atmosphere, food and fun.
Campomar: Great Atmosphere, service and seafood
Monkey Business: Super fun live music nightly
Food Park: an awesome family friendly food truck park with liters of margs!
Have you eaten good in PV? Let me know!
